WAITING FOR BOAZ

The story of Ruth is a beautiful story of restoration and recovery from all that was lost. Boaz was a symbol of hope and a new story. A journey from bitterness to renewal; Ruth had lost her husband and she had no children, her mother in law, Naomi had nothing left but to go back to Bethlehem and Ruth decided to go with her. On entering Bethlehem, Naomi asked to be called Mara which means bitter, but that didn't last because God changed her story.

Have you ever been in situations where life experiences have left you bitter, bitter at the decisions you have made, bitter at those around you... loss of a loved one, loss of a job, delayed expectations, shattered dreams...

Trust your convictions; Even though Ruth was widowed, there was one thing she was sure of, not going back to her people, she was from Moab, but she was sure about following her mother in law to Bethlehem. Even when Naomi presented strong facts of little or no hope, Ruth stood by her decision. And God honored her with the love of Boaz, a spring of hope in what seemed like a hopeless situation. What is that thing you are sure of inside of you? what is that conviction you have? Have you prayed about it?

Obedience; Then you have to take time and be careful to obey every instruction that God gives you. Except for when Ruth refused to go back to her people in Moab, Ruth obeyed her mother in law. every instruction and advice was followed by an act of obedience.

Service; Serve God, Ruth served Naomi... it was while she served that she met Boaz, while she was working to get food for herself and Naomi. Ruth was out there, working and serving, if she had stayed home, she might not have met Boaz.

Relationship with God; A relationship with God is the most important of all, because the will enable you to trust your convictions, walk in obedience and serve God and others despite all the heartbreak and disappointments. God enables, He give power to the weak and strength to weary.

The truth is God had already prepared Boaz for Ruth, there was already an answer to prayers waiting for them in Bethlehem. Ruth needed a husband and Naomi needed hope for her old age, and God had made a provision for Ruth and Naomi's heart desires to be met.

When God meets you at that point of need, He is not only changing your story but also the stories of those around you.

Yours in the Walk...

OVERSHADOW

The word overshadow means to tower above or to cast a shadow over .  Its Christmas and it is important to take another look at the Christmas story. I have read this story in the bible so many times, but this year something struck me and that is the word "overshadow". Luke 1:26-38 is an account of Mary's encounter with an angel who told her she would conceive and bear a son, whose name shall be called Jesus and he will be great and will be called Son of The Most High. Mary then asked the question how all this events will take place because she was a virgin and the angel explained in  Luke 1: 35: "The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of The Most High will  overshadow  you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God" Now here is my understanding, when there is a purpose to be birth, when God is set to carry out an assignment through one of his own, to carry out HIS assignment and purpose which supersedes every human com...

HEAVENLY PLACES

I have just finished a bible study with the women's group from my church, we studied the book 'Armor of God ' by Priscilia Shirer. It was an interesting study and i had so many things to learn. An important lesson i learned from the bible study is about heavenly places which i am going to be sharing. I found this particular revelation very liberating for me and i pray it will be liberating for you as well. For me, there is something intimidating when the bible verse  Ephesians 6:12  is quoted  "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Scary right? look at all the forces of darkness in one sentence :) I know the next thing people say is "God is one your side" "God is fighting your battles"... But there is an understanding that you need to have, You need to have an understanding...

Sorrowful to Surrender

It's Easter and i was pondering on Jesus's days before crucifixion and after resurrection, the journey from his time in Gethsemane to Galilee was something, a lot happened in those few days before his death to days after resurrection. What is our response in times of difficulty, grief, pain and suffering?  One important lesson from this study is that God meets us in our difficult seasons.  Let's start with Jesus' experience, Jesus in a state of grief before his death, he knew what was to come and he was overwhelmed with so much sorrow. Matthew‬ ‭26‬:‭37‬-‭38 ‬ ‭ “And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “ My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me. ” Imagine the soul being sorrowful even unto death, imagine the state of mind he was in? What was his response? He prayed! Not once, not twice but he went back 3 times praying until he returned fully surr...
